TL;DR
The Kennel is the door at the back of the fetish boutique. Ask Mira about the back room once you carry yourself submissively enough (Sub 40+) and own a cage, and she takes you through a calibration conversation that opens the arc. From there it is a session hub: kitten headspace, puppy headspace, or rope, each on its own progression ladder. Every scene carries a real safeword, and the whole thing reads differently depending on whether you are on the Master route or independent.
What the Kennel is
When you first ask the clerk about the back room, she locks the front door, flips the OPEN sign, and introduces herself by name: Mira. The room behind the velvet STAFF curtain is stone-walled, lit warm amber with a pink LED line at the floor edge, a walnut counter with a tray of collars, a leather wing-back chair, and a deeper room through an arch. It is hers, and she offers it to you.
This is the game’s kink deep-dive space. It does not overlap with the bar, the spa, or the Master’s own scenes. It is a separate, deliberate place you choose to walk into, and Mira frames it that way: you meet here, never anywhere else, and the shop floor is a different conversation.
Unlocking and entering
Entry is from the fetish store. The choice “Ask the clerk about the back room” appears when all of the following are true:
- Pet Play is switched on under Content Preferences (in the character creator, or Settings mid-run). Existing saves from before the toggle keep it on automatically; new games start with it off.
- Submission is 40 or higher.
- You own a chastity cage (
cage_tier >= 1, or you are currently wearing one).
Picking it runs Mira_Introduction, a one-time calibration beat. Mira asks three questions, restraint, headspace, and your hard line, then has you pick a safeword and sets the ground rules. Your answers seed which tracks open: a kitten appetite, a puppy appetite, a bondage appetite, or any combination. After the intro, the “Through the velvet curtain (the Kennel)” choice replaces it, and you return straight to the hub on later visits.
The calibration intro
The three questions are not flavour, they decide your menu:
- Restraint. Saying you think about it constantly or that you are curious opens the rope track. Saying “soft is fine, not yet” keeps rope off the menu.
- Headspace. Kitten (soft, curls, drinks from the bowl), Puppy (eager, fetches, gets praised), Both, or Neither (just rope). Kitten nudges Femininity, Puppy nudges Submission, Both nudges both.
- The line. What Mira never does, even if you ask mid-scene. Your phrasing here builds early trust.
She then explains the safeword: a yellow choice in every scene, taken any time, no consequence, the session stops and you go home. Completing the intro sets your relationship with her to its first tier and drops you into the session hub.
The session hub
Each track is a ladder. Stages are gated on Submission, on Mira’s trust in you, and on a three-day spacing between sessions, so the arc unfolds over in-game days rather than in one sitting. Everything below is roughly Submission and Shame heavy, with Femininity gains weighted toward the kitten track.
| Track | Stages | Shape |
|---|---|---|
| Kitten | 4 | Cushion and collar fitting, choosing your collar at the mirror, a recital in front of an audience or a peer, and (0.3.2) the invite-only kitten show |
| Puppy | 4 | First fitting and eager posture, heel/sit/come drills on the leash, a leashed walk with a presented climax, and (0.3.2) the long walk outside |
| Bondage (rope) | 5 | Wrist tie, karada body harness, hogtie, partial suspension, mummification |
| Switch | 1 | A kitten-to-puppy crossover, unlocked after both pet tracks reach stage 3 |
| Auction | repeating | An evening on the block, after a pet track stage 3 and Sub 70, on a 30-day cooldown. From your second auction on an Independent run, a fifth bidder with no name can win |
| Graduation | 1 + follow-ups | Mira’s own collar and a pet name, then overnights, morning texts, and a playroom session at home |
There is also a “Talk to Mira” option for relationship flavour and for adding a track you skipped at the intro, and a “Leave the Kennel” exit back to the shop.
Rope is its own progression
The bondage track is the longest and is built like a skill tree. The spine of it is Mira’s trust (mira_trust): partial suspension needs trust 5, mummification needs trust 8, on top of climbing Submission gates (50, 60, 70, 80) and the three-day spacing. You earn trust by completing stages and by giving thoughtful answers in the intro. Suspension and mummification are the deep end and are deliberately slow to reach.
Master route vs independent
Every scene has two framings driven by your route:
- On the Master route, Mira often defers to an absent or present Master: you hand her a sealed envelope with his instructions, he picks your collar, he brings guests to watch. These nights feed your standing with him and ping you a morning text afterward (“Mira told me how you looked on the cushion. Good kitten.”).
- On the independent route, Mira asks for your verbal consent at every escalation, teaches you the why of each rope wrap, and frames the surrender as something you chose. No Master, no follow-up text.
The stat outcomes are the same either way; the meaning differs.
Explicit beats, spoilers
The pet tracks center on kitten ears, a belled pink collar, and a tail-plug (puppy gets a pup mask, a heart-tagged collar, and a leash). Sessions move from kneeling and drinking from the bowl, through wearing the collar at the mirror, to a recital or leashed walk that ends in a hands-free climax driven by the plug while the cage stays locked. The rope track climbs from a simple wrist tie to a torso karada, a hogtie, a partial suspension off a ceiling ring, and finally full mummification (sensory deprivation), the deepest beat, with Mira monitoring beside you the whole time. The auction puts you on a lit platform with a brass ring while five guests bid on one evening: you pick the gear you wear (kitten, puppy, or rope), and the outfit shapes who commits. On the Master route he almost always wins and keeps you in front of the others. On the independent route the gear decides the buyer, Vivienne for the pet versions, Dr. Mercer for rope. Each climactic beat ships its own hero shot.
The 0.3.2 expansion: stage 4, the collar, the nights
The deep end of the pet tracks, added in 0.3.1 and free for everyone since 0.3.2 (its five achievements included). Everything here still sits behind the Pet Play preference.
Kitten stage 4: the show. Invite only, four cats a season.
Needs kitten stage 3 done, 3 days since it, devotion 4+ with Mira, and Submission 75. A pink-carpet runway and a three-seat judging table: on the Master route he sits centre with Vivienne and an older judge, on an Independent run the seats go to Vivienne, the grey-streaked woman from the auction, and the older sub from your recital. Three exercises, present, gait, hold, then Mira works the tail on command while the table watches, and you finish still holding the sit. She pins a stitched pink rosette to your collar. 35 Energy.
Puppy stage 4: the long walk. The leash leaves the building.
Same gates on the puppy side (stage 3 done + 3 days, devotion 4+, Submission 75). A leashed walk outside, back alley, the Red Light strip at night, to the park gate and back, in house gear and a short pink robe. Upright is allowed; heel is not negotiable. The strip reacts, a barked laugh, a woman who just watches, a phone coming out, and the climax is a present at the park gate thirty metres from the crowd. 35 Energy.
Graduation: her collar, your name. Mira's move, not a menu item.
Fires on its own once devotion reaches 6, a stage-4 show or walk is at least two days behind you, and you do not already wear her collar. Dark rose leather, worn brass, a blank plate: she has fitted it four times in twenty years and never once asked. Accepting hands you the pet-name choice, kitten-coded (Princess, Velvet, Bell), puppy-coded (Scout, Biscuit, Honey), or let Mira choose, and she stamps the plate while you wear it. “Not yet” is a genuine refusal: she shelves it without a word and offers again a few days later.
After the collar: nights, texts, home.
- Kennel overnight. With the collar, evenings offer sleeping over, the alcove if you finished the kitten show, otherwise the cage with the good blanket. It counts as the night’s sleep (new day, full Energy), and the morning is coffee at the counter with Mira using your pet name.
- Mira’s texts. A short, finite SMS chain follows the graduation: a collar-check the morning after, an overnight summons a few days later, and a quiet approval after your first night. She appears as a contact in the phone.
- The playroom session. A one-shot at home once you own her collar and have a playroom: the collar comes out of your bag in front of your own mirror wall, and the Kennel positions arrive unbidden in a room that smells of your own laundry.
The stranger at the auction. Independent runs, second auction on.
On the Master route he never loses his property, so this is Independent-only: from your second auction onward the grey-streaked woman in burgundy stops folding, outbids Vivienne or Dr. Mercer, and closes at a thousand. No name (“You won’t need it. You’ll be busy.”), gloves that never come off, and Mira offering the yellow safeword wordlessly one last time before stepping back. Unlocks the hidden achievement Sold to the Room.
The safeword and limits
The safeword is real and tracked. Taking it ends the session cleanly, Mira removes the gear with care, no judgment, and you go home with a small Shame nudge for stopping. Each use increments a counter (mira_safewords_used).
After three cumulative safewords, the next visit triggers a recalibration conversation instead of a session. Mira sits you down, says “three times now, that’s not a complaint, that’s information,” and takes things off the table: you can drop the kitten side, the puppy side, the rope, or ask for a break entirely. The counter resets and you try again when you mean it. This is a designed beat, not a punishment, the system is built to bend around what is not landing for you.
Stats and mechanics it touches
- Submission is the primary currency in and out: it gates entry and most stages, and rises 1 to 4 per scene.
- Femininity rises on the kitten track and the switch session.
- Shame ramps up in the later/exposed stages (recital, leashed walk, auction).
- Arousal spikes hard in scene and is partly relieved at climax via
do_relief, so sessions double as a managed-arousal outlet while the cage stays on. See the stats guide for how Arousal and relief interact with chastity. - Energy costs run 20 to 40 per session, so the Kennel is a real time-and-energy commitment, not a quick action. Sessions advance one TimeSlot.
- Master route sessions also grant standing with the Master and queue a next-morning text.
Relationship depth with Mira is tracked across mira_relationship (overall tier), mira_trust (the rope-track gate), and mira_pet_devotion (pet-track devotion).
Mira
The host is Madame Mira, the same woman who runs the Kitten & Chrome counter. On the shop floor she is the anonymous clerk; the moment she gives you her name in the intro, she becomes Mira for the rest of the run. She is calm, dry, precise, never cruel and never giddy, the kind of dominant whose authority comes from competence. See her character page for portrait canon and how the shop and the Kennel connect.
Tips and gotchas
You need a cage before Mira will open the door
The gate checks cage_tier >= 1. Buy and own a chastity cage from the fetish store first, and reach Submission 40, before the back-room choice appears.
Stages are paced over days, not minutes
Most second-and-later stages require three days since the previous one in that track, plus a higher Submission gate. You cannot grind the whole ladder in one afternoon, the Kennel arc is meant to unfold across the run.
The safeword has no penalty with Mira
Taking the yellow choice costs you nothing with her, the small Shame nudge is the only effect, and three uses earn you a genuine recalibration where you trim the menu. It is a tool, not a failure state.
Free players see everything
The Kennel has no is_patreon() gates anywhere in its content. The kitten, puppy, and rope tracks, the switch session, the auction, and since 0.3.2 the whole expansion (show, walk, graduation, overnights, playroom session) are all available regardless of Patreon status. (An old code comment in the source claims otherwise; it is stale.)
Pet Play preference off = the door does not exist
Since the expansion, the entire Kennel sits behind the Pet Play toggle in Content Preferences. New games start with it off, so if the back-room choice never appears despite Sub 40 and a cage, check Settings first. Turning it off mid-run pauses new pet content without deleting anything you own; an existing keyholder arrangement with Mira continues.
