TL;DR

Same flat mechanics as Her Place, opposite emotional engine. Hers runs on tension and consequence. His runs on hope and letdown, and the thing you can break is not a rule, it is him.

The share, covered

The $150 falls due on the same seven day clock. When you cannot cover it he does, in four seconds, and tries not to look pleased about it. There are no strikes and there is no tab.

What it buys him is the right to ask for one thing that week.

The wish

One open ask at a time, from a rotation of six. Keeping it raises his hope and moves the lead stage; three kept and he dresses you for outside, six and he stops asking for the small things and starts asking for the evenings.

Turning one down is allowed. He says nothing about it, leaves it three days, and asks again. That is also what a letdown looks like on this route.

The quiet flat

Enough refusals, or a week where nothing happened, and he withdraws. The list comes off the fridge, the magnet stays, holding nothing.

The mend is yours to start and it is quiet: wear one of his shirts to breakfast without being asked. He looks for a long time and then says “Okay,” and the word has about four things in it.
